In order to assist vulnerable people due to the deterioration of their health, the NGO FAITH has initiated the project “Save Lives Operations”.

The activity consists of collecting hundreds of pockets of blood in benin on behalf of the National Agency for Blood Transfusion.

Blood is defined as a vital biological fluid that circulates continuously through the blood vessels and heart, especially through the heart pump (WikiPédia). When this liquid runs out, it is called anemia.

It is clear from this definition that blood is compatible with life and that without blood there is no life.

As proof, it often happens that certain pathological situations make the lives of each other (no one being safe) depend on this vital product.

These situations have names: road accidents, severe malaria in its anemic form, haemorrhage of deliverance, hemorrhage of the post partum to name but a few.

More often than not, the near-permanent shortage of this precious fluid, which is blood, in our health centres, means that young people, adults, our mothers and especially our children are going from life to death. The fact is the same in almost all health centres in the country, especially those known as reference centres. As proof, a recent study conducted by Dr. BABALOLA (Ph.D. Thesis 20l6) reveals that the leading cause of infant mortality in the pediatric ward of the CHU-MEL is severe malaria in its anemic form. What is all the more frustrating is that these children die not for lack of qualified staff, not because of a lack of a technical platform but because of a shortage of blood.

We cannot ignore the case of our pregnant mothers from the CHU-MEL and the CUGO who most often die as a result of hemorrhages while giving life.

It is for all these reasons that the NGO FAITH in collaboration with CHVA initiated this activity not only to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation but also to collect pockets for our blood banks in order to save many lives. This activity will naturally be made permanent.

These pockets will undoubtedly be used to save many lives, which will contribute effectively to the development of our Nation.

This activity, the NGO FAITH organizes it periodically contributing to the availability of blood in our blood banks; so that patients never wait for blood again. New voluntary donors are thus aroused and old people are retained.
